How Thesis works
Thesis is a social network for crypto research on Solana. You publish theses about tokens, the community votes on quality with real on-chain stakes, and reputation accrues to the people who are consistently right. This page explains the whole system.
What is Thesis
Most crypto discussion rewards loudness and follower count. Thesis rewards being right. Every account builds a reputation score from the quality of its calls, measured by votes that cost something to cast, so the signal rises and the noise sinks.
It is mobile-first, non-custodial, and built entirely on Solana. You sign in with email or socials, get a wallet automatically, and start posting in minutes.
Posting a thesis
A thesis is your research on a single token. Paste the token’s contract address and the market data (logo, chain, live price, chart) auto-populates. Then add your argument:
- A title and the core thesis
- Optional bull case, bear case, and catalysts
- A category (DeFi, AI, Meme, Infrastructure, and more) and a time horizon
- Sources so others can verify your work
Reputation & voting
Readers upvote or downvote a thesis. To make a vote mean something, each vote burns 1 $THESIS token, permanently destroying it. Skin in the game keeps voting honest and makes brigading expensive.
Your reputation is shown on a 0 to 100 scale, derived from upvotes minus downvotes across everything you’ve posted. It’s colour-coded: green above 70, orange 40 to 70, and red below 40. Reputation is earned, never bought.
Verification (X)
Connect your X account to earn a verified checkmark next to your name. Verification proves you’re a real account and is required to accept paid chats, so people paying to reach you know who they’re paying.
You can connect or disconnect X any time from Settings. Disconnecting removes your checkmark and pauses paid-chat earnings until you reconnect.
Paid DMs
Verified users can set a price to unlock a DM. When someone wants to message you, they pay that amount in $THESIS directly to your wallet, and Thesis never holds the funds. Once paid, the conversation opens for both of you.
Your earnings (total unlocked-chat revenue) show on your profile alongside your reputation, upvotes, downvotes, and thesis count.
The $THESIS token
$THESIS is the utility token of the network. It has two jobs: it’s burned to vote on thesis quality, and it’s the currency for paid DMs. It is not a security and confers no ownership.
The token isn’t live yet, so balances currently display as 0. When it launches, your wallet balance and voting will activate automatically.
Wallets & security
Every account gets a Solana wallet on sign-in. Thesis is non-custodial: we never hold your private keys, seed phrase, or funds. Burns, votes, and payments are transactions you sign yourself, and once submitted they’re irreversible.
You can also verify ownership of an external wallet by signing a message, so no funds move and nothing is approved on your behalf.
Built on Solana
Thesis runs entirely on Solana for fast, low-cost transactions. Token data, burns, and payments all settle on-chain, so the things that drive reputation are publicly verifiable rather than taken on trust.
FAQ
Is this financial advice? No. Theses, votes, and scores are user-generated and informational only. Always do your own research.
Do I need a wallet to start? No, one is created for you on sign-in. You only need funds when you choose to vote or unlock a chat.
Can I delete my content? Yes, you can delete your own theses and comments. Anything already settled on-chain (a burn or payment) can’t be undone.
